Where our images come from
We use the highest tier available, in this order, and we record the source and licence of every image we publish.
- Data panels we generate. Built from the entry's own figures, in the publication's own type. No rights questions.
- Screenshots of cited pages. Captured from the public page the entry cites, such as a pricing page, documentation or release notes, cropped to the part that shows the fact. The credit under the image names the site and the capture date, and links to the page.
- Charts and diagrams from our own data.
- Official press and media kit images, credited to the brand and used editorially.
- Social posts embedded officially. We embed rather than rehost, so the post stays under the author's control.
- Openly licensed images from Wikimedia Commons. Only files under CC0, a public domain mark, CC BY or CC BY-SA, with a named author. Non-commercial, no-derivatives and fair use files are rejected. The credit under the image names the author and licence and links to the file's Commons page.
Every image is checked before it is placed: it has to show what its alt text says, fit the section it sits in, and carry no watermark. An image that fails is dropped, never swapped for something weaker.
We do not publish photorealistic AI-generated images, and we do not generate images depicting real people, products or events. If nothing suitable passes our checks, the article runs without an image.
Site furniture
Entries carry their own image and their own credit, printed under the image on the entry itself. Separately, the home page falls back to the photographs below when an entry has no image of its own. All of them are public domain dedications, so none carries an attribution requirement or a share-alike term. We list them anyway, because a publication whose argument is that sources should be shown does not get to make an exception for its own decoration.

Crediting is not a licence
We know the difference. We do not rehost someone's screenshot or photograph because we credited them. Where we do not hold a licence, we embed or we leave it out.
Takedown
If we have published an image you hold rights to and you want it removed, email ops@3ammarketer.com with:
- the page it appears on
- which image
- a statement that you hold the rights
- how to reach you
We act first and discuss afterwards: the image comes down while we review, rather than staying up while we argue. You do not need a lawyer to ask.
Once the takedown form is live it will appear here and will unpublish the image automatically on submission.
